3. Best Glass Salad Dressing Container: Ball Glass Half Pint Mouth Mason Jars

I'd be surprised if you didn't already own some Ball containers because they're so versatile and cute! Depending on the size you have, these mason jars can be used for making overnight oats, pickling veggies, and, of course, shaking up and storing salad dressing. The half-pint size is perfect for pre-making up to 1 cup of dressing at once. And if you prefer glass to plastic, this is the way to go. This pack comes with 12 jars and is extremely affordable at about $1 a jar!

4. Best Metal Salad Dressing Containers: Vitever Salad Dressing Container To Go

These are another great option for packing school or work lunches, but they come with even more containers for almost the same price as the Sistema ones (and they hold more dressing). Complete with a 2.4-ounce capacity, I also like that this 8-pack is stainless steel and has leak-proof silicone lids. Since the tops are different colors, you can even use containers for different dressings, should you want to pre-make a variety of options.

5. Best Large: Weck Juice Jar

I love Weck jars, so I knew I needed to include one! It's technically meant for juice, but it would make an awesome large dressing container. It boasts a whopping 3.2-cup capacity, so you can use it for feeding a crowd or having ample dressing for the whole week. Best of all, it comes in a two-pack. I also love how simple and sleek the glass design is, but it's definitely better for oil-based dressings that aren't too thick!

The Specs:

  • Material: Glass
  • Capacity: 3.2 cups
  • Dishwasher-safe: Yes

The Pros:

  • Sleek design
  • Easy to clean

The Cons:

Other Salad Dressing Containers to Consider

Eddingtons Kolder Salad Dressing Bottle

This container is a great size and it has a screw-top to keep it from leaking. I also like that it shares recipes for dressings on the bottle! However, the design may be too busy for some or distracting if you're making a different dressing recipe. The Eddingtons Kolder Salad Dressing Bottle is available at Amazon for $9.99.

Whiskware Salad Dressing Shaker

This bottle has a blender ball that the brand says can keep vinegar and oil separated for up to an hour. Plus, it'll break up any ingredients that may stick together (like spices), and can thoroughly shake up thicker liquids. That being said, there does seem to be a lot of components to wash for simple dressings! The Whiskware Salad Dressing Shaker is available at Amazon for $14.99.

Williams Sonoma Glass Canister

This canister is worth mentioning, especially because it's so versatile, but ultimately, I think it's too large for a dressing container. Plus, it's pricier than any other option on my list. The Williams Sonoma Glass Canister is available at Williams Sonoma for $27.95.

Why You Can Trust Me

Hi! I'm Maria, the founder of Two Peas and Their Pod. If you're already familiar with my site, you know that I try hundreds of different kitchen tools and gadgets that make cooking and serving food that much easier. Salad dressing containers are no exception! I absolutely love using mine for whipping up a dressing at home or packing it for eating on the go.

Just like I shop for things for my own kitchen, I looked through reviews on sites like Amazon to get a sense of the best products and brands out there. Then I checked out editorial sites that also review these types of products to see if there were some hidden gems I should know about. From there, I compiled my list of the five best salad dressing containers, considering price, capacity, and functionality. I'm positive that these are the best options you can buy for your salad dressings, and I'd use any of them in my own kitchen!

Everything to Know Before Buying a Salad Dressing Container

What to Consider Before Buying a Salad Dressing Container

Size: First, decide if you're buying a larger container for shaking up salad dressing at home and keeping it in the fridge or if you're looking for something to house a single serving for meals on the go. If you just need a tiny container to pack in a lunch box, you should look for leak-proof, travel-friendly containers.

Material: If you have a preference for glass, plastic, or metal, that'll also weed out a bunch of options. Personally, I like all of these materials, but maybe you like the look of glass or the lightweight feeling of plastic. It's also important to note that glass is easier to break, so make sure you're opting for a material that's best for your lifestyle and household.

Price: All of the options on my list are relatively inexpensive, but you should always go with something that's within your budget. Consider the value, too — if you don't already eat a ton of salads, maybe opt for something on the more affordable side. Meanwhile, if you're making dressings at home a few times a week, you may snag a container that's a bit pricier.

How Long Does Homemade Salad Dressing Last?

The answer totally depends on the ingredients in your dressing! If you're using fresh herbs, you should be more cautious and consume them within a couple of days. But if it's just a mix of oils and vinegar, you can get away with longer. To be on the safe side, OXO recommends consuming homemade dressings within four days.

Can You Use Any Jar For Salad Dressing?

Yes, you can, but some jars are better for salad dressing than others—ideally, you want something that fully seals and is leak-proof. If it also has a spout that makes pouring easier, even better!

Can You Freeze Salad Dressing?

It's best to see if the recipe you're using says it's freezer-friendly, but in general, you can freeze salad dressing. Just make sure you're using a freezer-safe container or even use an ice cube tray. And for best practice, label it with either the date you put it in the fridge or the date it'll expire.

What is a Healthy Salad Dressing?

There are loads of recipes out there, but one of my favorite healthy options is my Tahini Dressing. It has a creamy and nutty taste that I think goes well with plenty of salads, and it's only 6 ingredients (think: tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and salt and pepper) that you probably already have in your house!
