This simple green detox smoothie is made with banana, pineapple, apple, spinach, and coconut water. It's the perfect healthy smoothie for when your body needs a reset!

Detox Smoothie

I have never done a full on cleanse or detox, but I do love resetting my body with healthy foods after I have been traveling, after over indulging during the holidays, or if I feel a sickness coming on. Fueling your body with clean, healthy ingredients is always a good idea.

This Detox Smoothie is healthy in a glass and always hits the spot! It is light, clean, and made with only fruits and vegetables. I love it and my body loves it!

This smoothie recipe comes from my friend Catherine's new cookbook, Smoothie Project. Catherine has been inspiring our family to drink smoothies and to eat healthy for years so I am thrilled to have all of her wonderful smoothie recipes in one book!

The Smoothie Project has almost 100 smoothie recipes to choose from and my boys have already bookmarked a ton to try! There is even a decadent smoothie chapter that we have been using for dessert nights! There are so many tips and suggestions on how to customize your smoothies. Catherine thought of everything!

Oh, and the photos are GORGEOUS! Colin Price, who shot my cookbook, photographed Smoothie Project and every page is stunning! The photos will make you want to get out your blender ASAP to start making smoothies!

Detox Smoothie Ingredients

You only need five ingredients to make this healthy Detox Smoothie. And don't worry, the ingredients are basic! You might have them all in your kitchen right now! To make this smoothie, you will need:

  • Banana
  • Pineapple
  • Apple
  • Spinach
  • Coconut water or regular water (I like to use coconut water for the boost of potassium, but regular water is fine)

That is it! It's a very cleansing smoothie! If you want to add bee pollen, chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, protein powder, collagen peptides, etc. you certainly can! I love smoothies because you can always mix things up and customize the ingredients to what you like and to what your body needs.

If you are looking for a good protein powder, I love Clean Simple Eats protein powder. I love the vegan protein powder too!

How to Make Detox Smoothie

I recommend using a high-powered blender to make this smoothie and all smoothies. I love the new KitchenAid K400 Blender. It is super powerful and a great price (under $200) for such a powerful blender.

If you don't have a super powerful blender, that is ok. Just make sure you peel the apple before adding it to the blender. If you have a good blender, no need to peel the apple. The skin will blend right in and the skin adds nutrients and fiber.

To make the Detox Smoothie:

  • Combine all of the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.

We like to drink our smoothies with either glass straws or stainless steel straws! We was and use over and over!

What Is the Best Blender for Smoothies?

I've used a TON of blenders to make smoothies, and my current favorite is the Breville Super Q Blender. It's super dependable and makes my smoothies the perfect consistency. You can get it on Amazon, but you can check out my other recs in my best blenders for smoothies round up!

Healthy Smoothie

You can enjoy this healthy smoothie anytime of the day. I like to start my morning with a green Detox smoothie, but it is also great after a workout, for a snack, or even for a meal when your body just needs something GOOD! You can drink this detox smoothie whenever you are feeling like you need a reset!

Make sure you check out the Smoothie Project for more healthy smoothie recipes!
