Most of you know I am a huge fan of the book, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. The bread method is magic. It makes the best bread with very minimal effort. We love making round crusty loaves, pizza crust, baguettes, etc. Well, Zoe and Jeff just came out with a new book, Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day. I have only had the book for a week, but I am already in love.
We recently mixed up the master recipe. It was just as easy as the master recipe in the first book. No kneading is involved and you can use the dough for 2 weeks. The main difference is the whole wheat flour, more water, and vital wheat gluten.
On Sunday, we baked a round loaf and it turned out perfectly. I loved the hard crust and hearty flavor. I enjoyed a slice with our homemade plum jam. I love having fresh bread dough in the refrigerator. It is so easy to bake up a fresh loaf and there is nothing better in life than fresh baked bread, especially when it is so easy!
The book has 100 recipes using whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and even gluten-free ingredients. I am thrilled they came out with a book that includes all healthy recipes. I love my whole grains:)
On a side note-I met Zoe at the Blogher Food Conference in San Francisco and she is amazing! Not only is she gorgeous, but she is kind, sincere, and simply fabulous.
